Kelvin Dizon

In the present world we live in, there is a tug-of-war between advantages and disadvantages of utilizing advanced technology. The digital artwork I created explores the emotions and relationships between humans, machines, and nature. Each scene triggers a sentiment to dive in the realm of imagination, inquiry and visualization of our environment’s current conditions. This art piece confronts the effects of human behavior in conjunction with machine-dependency to the condition of our surroundings. At the same time, it opens up a conversation to the possibility of collaborating with cyborgs in creating a better world.

Ever since I was a kid, I have always been fascinated with the rawness of nature and the endless art inspirations it brings; therefore, I felt a deep connection with it. I pride myself in having a sense of responsibility in shedding light to this subject matter. One of the most inspiring artists who has moved me with his breathtaking works is David Yarrow, photographer who focuses on wildlife, mostly endangered species. In every composition that he creates, he is able to transmit an emotion and a sense of realness through a photo using his passion and skills. That same emotion is what I would like to emulate in my art work.
