Quarantine has made a huge impact on our lives, uprooting many day to day social interactions. Confined to our monitors, many of us have turned to the online environment as a means of communication. The digital platform has, in a sense, eased us into a world where our safest form of communication is long-distance. Fish were often representative of messengers for long-distance relationships in ancient Chinese folklore. These messenger fish have since been replaced with modern technology and digital information. I created these holographic fish to point to how far we have come in facilitating long distance relationships and conversation.
